“Lockhart Nuke Watch” was started to try and gather information about the Groves Isotope nuclear reactor being built in Lockhart, Texas by Oklo.

Well, it ain’t about me, darlin’.

When I (the author) discovered this project, Groves seemed so far along in fast-tracked approval, while being simultaneously difficult to learn anything substantial about it other than from press releases. I wanted to try and distill the research I was doing, to protect the people I love and the area I grew up in.

I’m not a reporter, but maybe a reporter can find it useful. If you have feedback from this perspective, I would readily receive it. Never done anything like this before.

I’m not a nuclear engineer by trade, but I am somewhat technical. You might say that I am a humble permanent student of complex systems. I would welcome review and feedback from experts in the regulatory and engineering domains that intersect with this issue.

I learned about Groves in passing conversation, someone from out of town shooting their mouth off. They were bragging about how easy it is to do anything in Texas, to Texas, because there’s no protections here. And when I looked into it… I was shocked.

Don’t mess with Texas.
